Book Description

Hes a British rock star.
And my stepbrother.
What can go wrong?

He called himself Spider. I just knew him as the sinfully gorgeous guy with eyes of fire that fate sat next to me on the airplane. I didn’t know who he really was…rock star…my stepbrother.

He kissed me because he thought we’d never see each other again. We would.

Everyone warned me about him.
They said he was ruthless and cold and screwed up.
They said he’d leave me with a hole in my heart.

Maybe I should have listened.
Maybe I should have built up a fortress to keep him out.
But I crumbled instead.

Some have said theres an unbreakable thread that connects those who are destined to meet. If that’s true, then the moment he sat next to me, we were bound together forever.

He just had to figure it out before it’s too late…

I'm just not sure what to think here. The beginning was solid and I got ready to be thoroughly entertained, and then somewhere down the road it turned into such a mess. Honestly, Rose' behavior was so juvenile I couldn't even with her. Jeez, go ahead and fall in love with a guy you knew for couple hours, who also happened to have sex with another girl in that same stretch of time. Yeah, that's a nice way to start a relationship. If he also happens to be your stepbrother and a drug addict, well, that's just icing on a cake. You notice how I didn't mention the 5-year age difference? That's because: 1) it wasn't the biggest hurdle for these two, 2) this "hang up" was never on my radar like for some people.

Then again, the fate angle was really good and Spider was really funny.

    So, yeah. It's a tossup.

    Over and out

    4.5 “Connection” Stars

Spider was a wonderfully angsty second chance romance. It brought out every emotion imaginable. And their undeniable connection — Be still my heart.

Spider and Rose meet quite by accident. And then by accident again. And then again. It soon became clear that it was much more than an accident. Their story was about fate and finding the other half of your soul when you least expect it. And even though their connection is obvious to both, Spider is not in a place in which he can admit such a thing. Rose knows that Spider has demons but hopes that what is between them is capable of lasting. Yet when they realize just how much their lives are forever going to be connected, EVERYTHING falls apart. As time moves on, so do Rose and Spider but that invisible thread connects them always.

From the very beginning I was hooked. Spider intrigued me and Rose deserved so much. My heart was in my chest from almost the start and as their story unfolded and mistakes were made and choices were decided, the fate of Spider and Rose was anguishing. And yet I never gave up hope even when they weren’t together as often as I’d hoped. By the end I was giddy with excitement and loved every minute of this emotional romance.
